So things havn't really turned out the way i thought it would. At least i'm glad IBG is over. Waking up at 6.30am for training is not something that one can sustain for extended periods. And attending training after lessons from 9pm - 11pm is also not something one can keep up with without compromising on study-life balance. At least the sporting stuff i chose were short term commitments. Gotta remind myself to be extra cautious when it comes to hall commitments. Know my limits.
I guess the only extra-curricular activity i'm permitting myself to commit to is Rockclimbing. Trainings are three times a week. That's heavy enough for me. In fact, i'm seriously considering to drop out of KR either next semester or next academic year. Either of the two for sure. I'll most probably move to PGP or Ridge View Residences, of which i've been secured a place for being in TeamNUS. That would relieve quite a bit of pressure cos then i would no longer have to worry bout chalking up points for a place in hall. And hopefully then i'd spend my extra time on studies. Well, the idea is there.
Was doing my Political Science readings in the library today and it turns out PS is more interesting than what the lecturer makes it seems to be. I'm enjoying PS more when doing my own readings than in lectures or tutorials. Probably it's just the lecturer. I know i'm not the only one who thinks Dr Mobrand is boring. And i've got a Korean lecturer for one of my modules. He sounds exactly like Pastor Choi, only less animated. They even look alike. That explains the strange familiarity i've been experiencing during Social Work lectures. He never fails to crank up the lecture hall when he tries to pronounce "basic". Comes out something like "bay-cheek". "bay-cheek income", thought he said "beijing income".
fieldtrips, reports, essays, projects, readings, trainings...sounds like quite a mouthful. well it's gonna be like that for a few more years. better get used to it. reading the bible and spending time with the girl, musn't miss out on those as well. dire consequences.
