i'm done with my exams. i'm done with my second semester. i'm done with my first year of tertiary education.
thoughts on year 1:
- the way our academic year is structured makes time past really fast. i'm gonna have a feeling this coming three month long hiatus is gonna crawl and span forever. and before i know it, i'd be begging for school to start again.
- consistency is key to performance. i think i was more consistent in sem 2 and i think my grades should reflect that. we shall see...31 May 2010.
- i balanced my studies, training, friends and QT better in sem 2. shall aim to do better in year 2.
- a 5 day week is definitely more comfortable than a 3 day week given that i stay on campus.
- i focus better in the library than in my room.
- it is impossible to study 10 hours a day throughout the sem without suffering from major health implications.
- staying away from home makes you less reliant on others. no one's gonna do the laundry for you, fold your clothes, get water or meals for you no matter how busy you are. sometimes i'm so busy i wish i could just tell the person walking by to the toilet to help me pee or do my business for me cos i've got so many other things that needs to be done.
- i'm more consistent with my QT on days where my first lessons starts later. chances are i won't wake up late and have to rush to get to lessons on time. therefore i think i ought to ballot for later lectures/tutorials.
- i need to respect the views of others more when in tutorials or group discussions.
- it pays to have a girlfriend in school with you, especially when you're in the same faculty. it's good to spur each other on and keep each other in check. not too sure how things will work out in year 2.
there's really a lot more to type and i think i can go on forever. shall leave it as this for now. now i need to go plan how to spend the next 3 months. never thought i'd say this but it seems its not impossible to find comfort in routine.
