Almost two months into my term vacation, still one more to go. Contrary to initial belief, i'm actually adapting quite well to this state of idle. Perhaps the demands of school term's really that intensive to warrant such a long downtime.
Anyway, by idling I don't mean bumming around doing absolutely nothing with my life these past two months. I just don't hold a full-time job. But I do short assignments every now and then, I read, I go for trainings, I catch up with people; well basically doing everything else that I couldn't afford to do during term time.
Finance wise it's really quite amazing, everything seems to be holding up pretty well. For now at least. I'm not really drawing any income since I don't hold a full-time job. My sporadic assignments help to supplement my small monthly allowance. But these two avenues by themselves would not sustain my spending prowess. This is where divine provision comes in. There was my marksman allowance, there was GST offset package, there was cash prize for my rock climbing competition and not forgetting a love gift from grandma. All these random inputs helped quite a bit. Nonetheless, however large a pot gold would still run dry with unbridled spending. Which is why i'm trying hard not to shop till a couple of weeks before school and to avoid posh dining places, unless occasion warrants so or if i'm not the one paying. So please don't tempt me with buffets for now cos i'm quite a sucker for it.
The Ridge, a NUS publication just invited me to be one of their writers. They offered CCA points which doesn't really mean anything to me. The experience on the other hand would be something that may come in handy during interviews and would serve as a decor on my resume. But then again it's a monthly publication and it's not like i'm not already tied down with the usual portion of school term demands + 3 to 4 times/week trainings. Choices...
