I knew it. Footprints, can't get rid of them.
This is a random entry.
Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing is truly random.
And indeed, despite what they tell you, nothing is ever really random. Something i've been musing over since high school, when i got my first mp3 player.
From a technological standpoint, computers/devices cannot think for themselves and hence, cannot compute "random". They function using specific programmed commands. From a mathematical standpoint "random" has been programmed along certain complex algorithms. Hence anyone possessing knowledge of such algorithms will be able to determine the "random", rendering them pretty much "un-random". When it comes to randomness, it's never an issue of "unpredictability" but rather "how difficult to predict".
And if you think about it, our brain's pretty much a central processing unit, just like computers. Once we've figured out all the underlying algorithms that determine brain activity, you'll come to realize that nothing's ever really "random".
The point of all this? Nothing much really. Just so you know that when you put your playlist on "shuffle" mode, the songs played aren't really at random. Once you've figured out the formula, you'd be able to tell what's coming on next. Ever felt as though some songs were coming on more often and others rarely? There's an explanation to it. Think prime numbers. This is just my conclusion, i may or may not be right. But i guess we should all reconfigure our notion of randomness. It's invalid. As my scientific calculator use to tell me,
error.
